Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in life.

Observations from the cheap seats...

“They’re creepy and their kooky, mysterious and spooky…” The Adams Family? Oh no, human beings.

People, we are all different degrees of crazy. Life has had an interesting way of bringing into my life quite the cast of characters. BTW, I’m related to most of them. However, it’s the intangibles that really interest me about people. It’s the underlying assumptions, the pre-conceived notions, the un-said’s, if you will, that will forever intrigue me. Basically, the ‘why someone does or doesn’t do something’ is what keeps me guessing. And I enjoy it.

The thing is too, that we all have our nonsense and yet some of us don’t want to admit that we have any shenanigans… and THAT, in an of itself, is their thing.

Life is strange and unpredictable; so, we either roll with the punches or allow ourselves to be tossed to and fro with every wave of change that comes along. A humans ability to adapt can be phenomenal. Then, on the same token, their inability to bend or be malleable can be devastating. I don’t know if I would classify humanity as “simple” but we’re definitely not as complicated as we’d like to think.

So where is this coming from? Well, I’ve had a few weeks of thinking… and that’s never a good thing, but I’ve also just had a case of writers block, to be honest. I’ve wanted to write about: parenting, God’s enormous grace in my life, friendships, finances, travel… and instead I ended up here. Looking at us. The corporate US… and thinking, why the crap do we convince ourselves that we are SO different? Don’t get me wrong there is such a thing as perspectives, sure we have different perspectives, but I’m talking about the common threads we choose to ignore.

I’ll keep observing and taking mental notes because of every aspect of humanity that keeps me glued to the television of life, the most enthralling is trying to figure out, “why”. Why we do, what we do… it’ll take me the rest of my time on this rock to continue searching for that, and yeah, I’m ok with it.
