Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in life.

All you need is love?

There’s a lot going on right now. I mean, a lot….

There is financial turmoil, tension, injustices, brokenness, anger, ailments… I mean honestly, you could tick off a list of crap and then be like, “yes, all of that is going on simultaneously”. These are crazy times we’re living in.

But do you know what doesn’t change? LOVE. Jesus’ love for people. HE loves regardless. Regardless of health, of socioeconomic status, of race, of gender, of ethnicity, of education, of zip code … HE LOVES! So, in a world that is literally being set on fire, our role as HIS body is to do just that, LOVE.

Don’t get me wrong, just like a good mom has to lay down the law every once in a while, once in a while the injustices of this world become too much to bare, too much to witness… and things happen. However, the kind of love I’m talking about is the kind of love that doesn’t waiver. That doesn’t change because of the tumultuous circumstances we encounter.

Loving one another as Christ loves us, is hard. We just don’t want to at times… frankly, people can suck. But… HE chose to love us and lay down HIS life for us while we were still HIS enemies. THAT’S INSANE? Right? Right?? But, as believers, we are to be known by our love. Our love for the lost, our love for one another, our love for HIM and HIS righteousness.

We live in a fallen world and the wages of sin is death. So, how do we live, putting on Christ, on a daily basis, in this environment? It’s crazy, but the more upside down our world gets the closer we (as believers) need to cling to Christ. To walk with HIM and to walk in the SPIRIT. To look to HIM as an example. Guys, Jesus got upset righteously, he braided a whip, and flipped some tables.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, please let’s recognize that, at times, righteous anger is REALLY appropriate, but we need to also know that even though it’s ok to be angry, our end result should not be sin. Be angry, but do not sin.

I don’t know what the correct answers to the challenges we’re in are. Wear a mask, drink water, wash your hands, put on some riot gear… no clue! But what I do know is that I am unable to control anything besides my reaction to things, and I am going to choose to love. To desire and long for peace, to pray for others, and to wait on the Lord.

We live in a fallen and broken world filled with lost people who do not know they are lost. We as believers need to, in humility, serve others (regardless of who they are) love the lost (regardless of what they believe) and pray for everyone (regardless of our feelings).

Good luck! And may the odds be ever in your favor.
